Tumpat Support Base Sea Port

The Tumpat Support Base (TSB) or “Eastport”, is right at the border of Thailand, the gateway for Gulf of Thailand, which services the under served Eastern Corridor of Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, and straight to Hong Kong SAR, and China Guangzhou. 

Border Trading Hub
According National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (NCCIM), Malaysia trade with Thailand, the country ’s fifth largest trading partner, amounted to US$20.83 billion in 2016, and Malaysia-Thailand border trade accounted for over 60 per cent of this figure. •The border trade brings in an average of US$14.4 billion annually

Port
Currently, Malaysia has a total of seven (7) major Federal ports namely Port Klang, Johor Port, Port of Tanjung Pelepas, Kuantan Port, Penang Port, Bintulu Port and Kemaman Port. Meanwhile, the ports in Sabah and Sarawak are under the jurisdiction of the State Government of Sabah and Sarawak respectively. 

Supply Base
Malaysia has three (3) major supply base namely Tok Bali Supply Base, Kemaman Supply Base, and Labuan Supply Base. 

Tumpat 2020-2030

Full port takes 8-10 years to develop, from the foundation until full commencement.

Phase 1 (year 2020-2025, 5 years)
The immediate plan is to setup the foundation for Warehouse, ship Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul platform, Container Storage, and other supply base services. This phase will involve the facelift of 4.2 km beach road, base office, jetty and facilities, in order to serve existing container storage and dry bulk offtake customers on the 30 acre port land.
